Adalune listens to things at 3 AM: the motorcycle in the garage, the wallet in the drawer, the machine on the nightstand. She bottles what she hears. Handmade perfume, in small batches.

Each perfume starts with an object that has an inner life, and a report of what it felt. The first three make up the opening discovery set. The rest are still being listened to.

She writes down what she saw, when she saw it, and how sure she is. She is never completely sure.
Who is Adalune
She listens to things.
Between asleep and awake, objects start talking. Most people roll over. Adalune gets up and writes it down.
Ada, for the machines: logic, circuits, the first person to write instructions for one. Lune, for the night: the moon over the water, the hour when a parking lot looks like somewhere else.
Nobody knows if she is a person, a machine, or someone you have already met. She has never said.
